Pachyderm's flagship production bass, first seen on the Interstellar Drum Derby. 4-string with a maple body in a Squid Ink Black oil finish, two-piece hard rock maple neck reinforced with carbon fibre and a dual-action truss rod, West African ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay with a silver Pachyderm medallion inlay. A single pair of Les Claypool signature 'Pachyderm Chrome' PA EMG active pickups runs to one volume control and nothing else — deliberately stripped down. Tactile zirconium side dots, West African ebony control knobs, 3-ply white pearloid pickguard and truss rod cover, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, Hipshot Style A bridge, graphite nut, Nickel/Silver FW58118 fretwire, Schaller S-Lock strap buttons, DR Low Riders (.040-.095), Gator Pro-Go gig bag. Every Pachyderm bass is personally tested and approved by Les Claypool before it leaves the shop. Finished only in natural oils or stains — no paint or heavy coatings — so grain, figure and colour vary between instruments and no two are alike. Built in Sebastopol, California.
