Steel-string ultralight bass (about 2.3-2.5 kg). Preferred configuration pairs a Delano soapbar magnetic pickup with a piezo bridge, blended via master volume, a piezo/magnetic blend knob and a humbucker/split toggle; light, stable Gotoh Resolite tuners. Tuned E-G (4-string) or E-C (5-string). Hand-built to order in Basel, Switzerland by David Emm Guitars. The 'Ultralight' concept challenges the idea that basses must be heavy: a solid spruce core sandwiched by hardwood and a 3-piece Swiss maple neck keep weight far below the rest of the market. 30" short scale, fretted or fretless, with an ergonomic flat neck profile, belly carve, angled leg rest and an all-access heel joint.
