Nylon/classical-string ultralight bass (about 2.0-2.1 kg). RMC piezo pickups through a Richter Electronics preamp with individual string-volume adjustment; Schertler classical tuners; Savarez 6CB640R classical bass strings. Tuned E-G (4-string) or E-C (5-string) - no low B on the nylon version. Hand-built to order in Basel, Switzerland by David Emm Guitars. The 'Ultralight' concept challenges the idea that basses must be heavy: a solid spruce core sandwiched by hardwood and a 3-piece Swiss maple neck keep weight far below the rest of the market. 30" short scale, fretted or fretless, with an ergonomic flat neck profile, belly carve, angled leg rest and an all-access heel joint.
