4, 5-string · 4, 5 · hollow-body
hollow body. Nishgaki Guitars' Tempesta - an arch-top, semi-solid bass ('Tempesta' means 'storm' in Italian; all Nishgaki model names come from meteorological terms). The top and back are shaped by hand around an original hollow center-block, blending the acoustic voice of a vintage cello with electric-bass overtones, expressive through the player's touch. Sitka-spruce top, mahogany core and flame-maple back, a 3-piece flame/hard-maple neck and ebony fingerboard, 34" scale, 24 frets, 18 mm bridge spacing and a 1.88" nut. Bartolini humbuckers (Nordstrand Big Singles optional), passive volume/blend/tone, Hipshot bridge and Gotoh tuners. Built in Japan from Japanese woods. Price on request.
