MBJ's upgraded, fully custom model - 'upgraded physiology and custom adornments' with every detail decided between the customer and builder Joe Kruse. Offered as a 4-, 5-, or 6-string bass (also built as 6- and 7-string guitars). Options: fretless (+$150), active electronics (+$300), neck binding (+$300), and a Mono padded sleeve (+$200). Handmade in Brooklyn, NY by Joe Kruse of MBJ Guitars, who apprenticed under legendary Brooklyn luthier Carl Thompson and also worked at Roger Sadowsky's shop. Woods, pickups, and hardware selected per build. Prices: 4-string $5,250, 5-string $6,000, 6-string $6,750 (excludes shipping). Played by lespecial's Luke Bemand and Oleg Zalman.
