A 5-string on 19mm spacing with an MVP-like body but a slightly lower horn cut, a thumbrest, a deeper cutaway and no heel. 5-string bass. 34-inch scale, 24 frets. Body: Greater than AAAAA grade flame maple. Neck: Capillary neck-through, 3-piece maple laminate. Fingerboard: Ebony. Pickups: Bartolini, made for M.V. Pedulla. Electronics: Bartolini preamp. Bridge: ABM 3-way adjustable machined brass with roller saddles. Bone nut, single double-acting truss rod with two stiffening bars, M.V. Pedulla/Gotoh machine heads, Gotoh strap pins. Handbuilt by Michael Pedulla in Rockland, Massachusetts. Discontinued. Earlier ME4/ME5/ME6 versions, fretted and fretless, appeared on the 2000 price list from $3,395; a ME4F+8 doubleneck was listed at $6,395.
