hollow body. One-of-a-kind Doug Irwin-certified 'Wolf'-style 6-string bass, hand-built by Bill Asher in collaboration with original Wolf creator Doug Irwin. Debuted by bassist Oteil Burbridge at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 6, 2025 for the Grateful Dead 60th (GD60). Partially hollowed purpleheart and quilted-maple body, 5-layer purpleheart and curly-maple neck, 14-inch-radius ebony fingerboard with faux-ivory Wolf inlay, Jescar medium-jumbo frets, 34-inch scale, Hipshot USA tuners. Custom DiMarzio Bass 6 (Dual Sound / SDSI) pickups with series/parallel switching and an effects loop with Waldo buffer. U-channel machined brass bridge and Irwin Wolf tailpiece; front Dire Wolf medallion inlay (mother of pearl, ebony, purpleheart, brass, stone) and rear Ankh inlay. Glasurit light amber gloss, 9.25 lb. Limited production; about 35,000 USD (initial deposit 1,200).
