Aristides S/B4, from the S/B multiscale bass series. Entry point to the S/B multiscale series. The fan is tuned for a balanced, piano-like voice with rich harmonics across all four strings. Multiscale 33.6-35.4", fingerboard radius Compound 10" to 16.4", nut width 1.57" (40mm), 24 stainless steel Jescar FW43080 frets, Graphtech/Aristides custom TUSQ nut, split headstock, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, Hipshot 5S100 SOLO bridge saddles, Luminlay side dots. Pickup and preamp options include Fishman, Nordstrand, EMG, Bare Knuckle, Seymour Duncan and Lundgren, with MEC electronics standard and a Darkglass preamp optional. Raw (coloured exoskeleton, textured, lower cost) or painted gloss/satin/custom finishes. Arium is Aristides' proprietary non-wood composite: an integrally-layered exoskeleton around a resonant core, formed as a single piece with the neck, which the maker credits for the material's stability and even response across the board. Price starts at EUR 2,895 (approx $3,127 USD). The S/B is also available to order in 7-, 8- and 9-string. Handbuilt in the Netherlands.
